Our Sponsored Expeditions are fully hosted by the Dharma Residency Program. Because every expedition is funded and carefully assembled, the application process is selective.

​

We are not looking for the "best" people—we're looking for a group that we believe will enjoy exploring, learning, and spending time together while contributing their own unique perspective.

The Process

​

1. Start by filling out the application form and sending us a short one-minute video introducing yourself. If you already have videos online that give us a sense of who you are, feel free to share those instead.

Tell us a little about yourself—where you are in life, what interests you, what you’re curious about, and what draws you to this expedition.

This isn’t an audition. We simply want to get a sense of who you are and what you might bring to the group, so we can assemble a small group of people whose personalities, perspectives, and life experiences complement one another.

2. Review

We'll review every application carefully and consider how applicants might fit together as a group.

3. Conversation

Selected applicants may be invited to a video call, email / text exchange so we can get to know one another, answer questions, and explore whether the expedition feels like a good mutual fit.

4. Invitation

If selected, you'll receive an invitation along with all the practical information, paperwork needed to prepare for your expedition.

What We Look For

We're interested in people who are:

• Entertaining for others

• Curious and open-minded

• Comfortable in small-group settings

• Physically able to participate in the planned activities

• Respectful of nature, local culture, and fellow participants

• Willing to contribute to the shared experience

While it's not required, many sponsored participants already should have a body of work, interests, or an online presence that helps us understand their perspective and what they might contribute to the expedition. Marketing "corss-pollination" by social media is an important, financially sustaining factor for the sponsored Expeditions.

There are no right answers and no perfect applicants. We're simply trying to assemble the most meaningful group for each unique expedition.
