Here, the vastness of the ocean, the living presence of volcanoes, and the silence of untouched rainforest strip away the artificial stimuli that normally keep the ego entertained. Without its constant theater to play upon, the mind begins to quiet, and the veil of conventional perception starts to thin. What we once took as fixed reality is revealed as a survival interface—useful once, but no longer binding when clearly seen. In this spaciousness, the old games of striving, competing, and proving lose their meaning, and a new refuge appears: awareness itself. This refuge is not dependent on teachers, systems, or external validation, but on a direct recognition that truth is already present, waiting to be lived.
